Provided by Matt Houghton, Karl Zanft and Miles Tredwell through Agora Lifestyles, The Syndicate is a specialist horse racing tipster service.
What is the product?
The Syndicate is a horse racing tipster service that unlike the majority of offerings uses a number of different experts to identify selections from their own niche. The Syndicate team is made up of Matt Houghton, Karl Zanft and Miles Tredwell who between them offer advice on flat, hunt and year round bets with up to 10 selections being made available per day. The selection process for The Syndicate is obviously based on the knowledge of the team of experts however Matt Houghton, Karl Zanft and Miles Tredwell all say that they use their own methods of assessing and analysing the data for upcoming races. This means that you may not necessarily get bets for every race on a given day. The Syndicate’s bets are generally win although there seems to be the possibility of each way bets also being utilised. In terms of numbers, Agora Lifestyles have failed to supply anything tangible with no strike rate available and no sign of any proofing, something that you would expect to be in place on a tipster service.
What is the investment vs. the rate of return?
Oddly Agora Lifestyles offer two payment options for The Syndicate. The first is a one time cost of £395 or there is a second option which costs £495. There is no difference from what I can see between the two options with both buying you a year long subscription. In fact there is only one difference between the two and that is the fact that the more expensive subscription can be paid for on a credit card whereas the “Best Offer” can only be paid for on a debit card. Unfortunately there is not money back guarantee in place for The Syndicate however Agora Lifestyles do offer you a 30 day payment free window. As I have mentioned before now there is a distinctive lack of information and proofing which does restrict your ability to really analyse profits. That having been said it is heavily implied that one of the team behind The Syndicate made £9,000 in a 5 month period.
Does the product provide value for money?
At almost £500 if you are paying on your credit card, and with no proofing whatsoever, I simply don’t see how you can consider The Syndicate to be value for money.
There are a number of things that I dislike about The Syndicate and how Agora Lifestyles are marketing it as a product. The first of these is that there is an impressive amount of space dedicated to professional gambler Alan Woods, none of which actually has to do with what is on offer other than he ran a syndicate and this product is is called The Syndicate. There is also the lack of proofing which I keep bringing up but it bears repeating as this is elementary stuff for a tipster service. Finally there are questions over Karl Zanft’s involvement in The Syndicate. Whilst it may well be a different Karl Zanft, my research discovered somebody with that name has been banned from being a director following a lapse in accounting practices on a different horse racing product. This may not bother some people but I feel that it would be remiss to not mention it. All of this just doesn’t come together to make an attractive proposition and as such I would personally give The Syndicate a miss.
